Gut Nourishing Stewed Apples
Stewed apples are particularly nourishing to your gut due to their pectin content. Pectin is a soluble fibre that is therapeutic to our gut health and provides the beneficial gut bacteria with a nourishing fuel source supporting their growth. When apples are cooked, more pectin is released!
In addition to this, apples contain quercetin and vitamin C having a soothing and anti-inflammatory effect on the gut. These stewed apples are great for overall health, are a great way to nourish and build on your good gut bacteria and are a great food to have when you are recovering from illness or a gut bug.
